This is the best purchase ever because you get the highest quality instruction available in the world straight from the source in step by step increments you can easily absorb at your own pace. What kind of price tag can you put on your street readiness for personal safety when that inevitable moment comes where you must fight no matter how safe you try to live. The ability to subdue a much larger attacker and control a violent and dangerous situation with trained confidence easily makes this the best purchase ever. Each viewing of a lesson I've already trained reveals hidden gems of such incredibly rich detail, you'll want to continue to review these fundamentals that are so important for the rest of your life. It all starts with this purchase as the foundation and develops into a lifelong adventure you'll wonder how you made it so long before you started! I'm deeply grateful for the lessons I've learned from the Gracie brothers. Outstanding!

I am more than a bit surprised that there hasn't been a review of these DVDs yet. I have been a martial artist for over ...dear Lord..30 years! I have purchased martial arts instructional/historical audio/visual (meaning DVDs and VHS...if you know what that is you are old) material for most of that time. I own material from Black Belt Magazine, Aikido Today (VHS, DVDs and Saito's entire catalog on streaming AND DVD). In all, thousands of hours of material. So I know what I am talking about when I say that these are the finest instructional products I personally have ever seen. Why? Here's why.

1. These are designed for distance learning. Each lesson is has an intro, and is divided into "slices" which breaks the variations up for easy practice and viewing. Even better, you can play a silent demo of each technique "slice" so that you can play it on a loop in the background as you train! Brilliant. Video quality and audio quality are HD level and are consistantly good through out. 2. The content is logical. This has more to the excellent teaching methodology of the Gracie family than anything else. You start with the foundational movements and build. Seems simple, but it is very elegantly done by these guys. The instruction is top notch with common mistakes and safety techniques being called out at every turn. Bravo! 3. Ease of finding content. How many times have you tried to find a specific part of a movie on DVD? Each of the DVDs has all of the techniques listed on the back of each DVD case, and the binding of each case is color coded and lists technique numbers contained on the DVD. Again, basic but it is the little things that make this such an outstanding product. 4. Bonus material- You get a 60+ page Gracie Combatives Handbook which is a guide to their teaching methodology. They set you up for success in so many ways and this is another example of it. The book has room for notes on each technique, a training schedule for maximum efficiency, and a section on the history and philosophy of Gracie Jiu Jitsu that is designed to guide you all the way through to Blue Belt. In the immortal words of Billy Mays (RIP) "But wait! There's more!". There is a HUGE Gracie Combatives Wall Chart which had to have been created by an engineer. It shows the progression of technique and method of self defense training shows just how the complexity and intricacies of Gracie Combatives builds over time. Really awesome job guys. I think I need to add one more, and to me this is the most important. #5...Rener and Ryron. These two brothers are unbelievably competent teachers, and they are freakin' hilarous. They LOVE this stuff and it shows. There are hundreds of hours of training material here, and these two dudes are so infectiously excited in EVERY-SINGLE-SLICE is makes me excited to train! Never seen anything like this before. Get. This. Now. There is something here for everyone. If you are "too advanced" to review the basics you probably aren't as good as you think you are. I can see going back over these DVDs for decades. Not even joking. Buy with great confidence.
